Daily Toast! Raise a Glass to a True Icon!

    BillBy BillJanuary 15, 2014Updated:July 1, 2014No Comments2 Mins Read

So perhaps you’ve seen the daily toast before and wondered exactly what it is. It’s very simple. Each day, we pick a reason for you to raise a glass of something and have a drink. It’s not that you need a reason, per say, but just in case, we’ll go ahead and give you one.

Today is January 15th, and it marks the birthday of several famous athletes and celebrities. I could have picked any Janaury 15th athlete such as Drew Brees of the NFL or Matt Holliday of MLB. I could have toasted twin royal princes Alexander and Philip of Yugoslavia, musician Adam Jones of the band Tool, or even the late Ronnie Van Zandt of Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Instead, I’ll toast to an even greater American Icon, Pitbull. One might think I would suggest raising a glass of Bacardi in honor of his first single, “Oh, Bacardi, Oh!,” but that would be too obvious. Instead, in honor of his third (and also uncharting) single, “That’s Nasty” featuring Lil Jon and fat Joe pop open a can (Yes, Can) of Keystone and cheers a musical genius. Because Keystone is, frankly, pretty nasty.

If that doesn’t do it for you, raise a glass of something nice to a true hero, Captain Sully Sullenberger, who on this day in 2009, miraculously landed a failing plane carrying 150 passengers in Hudson River with zero fatalities in what has come to be known as the “Hudson River Miracle.”
