Alltech Lexington Brewing and Distilling Co. bills itself as one of the world’s only “brewstilleries,” where brewing and distilling operations share common space. It’s a great concept, allowing Alltech the freedom and convenience of always having an ample supply of bourbon barrels in which to age beer. This leads to what is perhaps Alltech’s signature beer line, the Bourbon Barrel Ale and Stout.
From the distilling side, Alltech produces Town Branch bourbon and rye, along with Pearse Lyons Reserve (named for the Alltech founder and president). The distillery is part of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
