Kentuxican Bourbon Hot Sauce

This one fits in perfectly with ModernThirst’s primary theme: BOURBON! Kentuxican uses actual Kentucky Straight bourbon blended into a hot sauce made from Habanero and Carolina Reapers along with garlic, pepper, and spices.

Heat: Low

Pair with: any grilled or smoked meats (excluding seafood)- particularly brisket and pork. Try it on a Cuban sandwich!

Cost: $9.99/5oz on Amazon.com

Score:

Flavor: 6.5/10

Heat: 5/10

Uniqueness: 7/10

Overall: 6.5/10

Verdict:

A little disappointing, though I felt it got better as I made my way through the bottle. Didn’t get a lot of bourbon flavor OR heat from this as would be expected given the peppers used. This is a local favorite in Louisville, KY.
