    Tasting Notes:

    Fern Creek Small Batch

    • 78% Corn, 10% Rye, 12% Malted Barley

    Appearance

    Golden, slightly oily

    Nose

    Light, sweet fruits, pepper, oak, vanilla, Licorice, cinnamon

    Taste

    Rye pepper on the tip of the tongue and periphery, sweet corn, white grape, anise, clove

    Finish

    Medium in length, rye pepper with mild barrel tannins, freshly sawn oak, slightly dry

    Verdict

    Very nice and approachable. Good, sweet flavor with very little bitterness.

    Appearance

    Dark with fine barrel particulates

    Nose

    Cocoa, oak, rye pepper, cinnamon, anise, savory spices

    Taste

    Powdered sweet cocoa mix, white pepper, earthy leather and tobacco, sweet vanilla

    Finish

    Medium in length, sweet hot chocolate, minimal tannix, no bitterness, very well balanced.

    Verdict

    Robust and earthy with a great sweet cocoa note, this barrel is one worth having.


    Exceptional and Rare

    • SRP: $179
    • 87.5º
    • Blend of 12 Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon (72% corn, 10% rye, 12% malted barley) and an unnamed Kentucky Straight Bourbon
    • Batch 1

    Appearance

    Amber

    Nose

    White grapes, pears, orchard fruits, simple syrup and fresh oak

    Taste

    Spicy, very viscous with strong orchard fruits carrying through form the nose including pears and green apples. Very well balanced

    Finish

    Medium to slightly short in length, this dry finish carries some barrel tannins that never turn overly bitter, some rye spice and white fruits linger.

    Verdict

    My favorite of the lineup, this is a delicate and well-balanced bourbon that should be sipped neat- No ice, no water, no mixers
