Packaging
The bottle is sold in attractive brown tubes, and the tall, sloped-shoulder bottle is adorned with a nicely appointed paper label with gold lettering. It’s very attractive.
Appearance
Golden brown.
Nose
Oiled leather greets the nose with a heavy does of oak and dark fruit. There’s a prickly spiciness on the back end as well.
Palate
The tip of the tongue gets a quick hit of black pepper rye spice. But that quickly gives way to dark fruits- plums, maraschino cherries, and sweet caramel on the mid palate, before the oak, barrel tannins, and another healthy dose of rye hits the back of the tongue. Overall, the viscous mouthfeel of this bourbon is outstanding. It’s creamy throughout.
Finish
Long, spicy, with plenty of oak, the finish seems to linger on this bourbon.
Synopsis
This is a surprisingly pleasant bourbon to sip. I’m not sure what I was expecting when I picked up this bottle, but the result is a very interesting bourbon with a nice play between the rye spices and heavy sweet fruits on the mid palate. I wouldn’t have been surprised if I had learned this was barrel finished in port barrels or something to that effect. However it was achieved, the folks at Limestone Branch did an excellent job picking this blend. It’s worth a pickup at this price.

I agree very good Bourbon! I paid $60 at the Lebanon Limestone Distillery site and have been blind taste tasting it against my other favorites over 30 years. The butterscotch finish is just wonderful.
I’ve revisited this several times, and I still like it quite a bit. It’s a really solid bourbon.
