13 Bombers of Beer on the Wall

    MattBy MattApril 18, 2014Updated:May 13, 201413 Comments2 Mins Read

I have accumulated quite a few bombers recently with the intent to post about the more notable ones.  Bomber is the slang term for a 22 once bottle.  Many craft breweries will put limited releases  and other specialty beers in these 22 ounce bottles,  typically these are beers that are not sold in 6 packs of 12 ounce bottles.  This also means the are able to charge a much higher per ounce price (luckily still way below wine prices)

The reason I am posting this picture is I want to give the readers a chance to request a review.  I will put a list of the names below, feel free to ask questions about any of the beers and then let me know the one beer that you deem most review worthy.

    From left to right:

    Upland Teddy Bear Kisses
    Three Floyds RazorHoof
    Three Floyds Man-O-Awe
    Clown Shoes Ohio Unidragon
Avery/Russian River Collaboration not Litigation Ale
    Sierra Nevada Devastation Black IPA
    Crooked Line Detour
    Dogfish Head 75 Minute IPA
    Southern Tier Crème Brûlée
    Lagunitas Hop Stoppid Ale
    Alesmith IPA
    Laughing Dog The Dog Father
    Smuttynose Gravitation
I am really excited for these beers, especially the ones that I haven’t tried yet, unfortunately it will take awhile to drink them all (if I want to be responsible).  Since ModernThirst  will be announcing some recurring review themes, I think the bomber review series would be appropriate to help me get through these.  I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

    Cheers!

I’m very excited to try that one…only way to get a Russian River beer in this area of the country.

That Creme Brulee looks interesting, but not liek something I’d normally drink. How about that Black IPA from SN?

Definitely a big fan of Three Floyd’s beers (Munster, IN). Loving your site from Chi-town.

Thanks Ben…appreciate you reading in Chicago.

I love Three Floyds, I wish we could get more of it down this way, but you Chicagoans drink it all.

I hope to get to the brewery someday soon. Maybe we could have a ModernThirst event!
