Bill,
WTF going from about $15 to $40?? I would think a doubling of price makes more sense at $30. Around Eagle Rare and even HMcK BiB before the recent explosion. But do still see the HMcK at around $34 if I look hard enough. And didn’t Early Times come out with a BiB at under $30? I guess we all will vote with our wallets.
The old KY-only release was entirely under-priced from Heaven Hill’s perspective (which is one reason Kentuckians loved it).
I feel like this is their attempt at hitting the reset button with regards to price. Cancel it, then bring it back a year older with better packaging and release it in markets that didn’t get the old version so no one expects a 7 year bonded bourbon at $15.
