    Rhinegeist Truth review

    MattBy MattJune 6, 2014Updated:July 3, 20141 Comment2 Mins Read

    Rhinegeist Truth

    Growler

    truth

    Brewers description:

Intensely hopped, dry IPA with Centennial, Citra, Amarillo and Simcoe hops. We hop this at a rate of 3lbs/bbl to rev up peach, mango, and passionfruit notes.

    7.2% ABV

    75 IBU

    Aroma

Not a lot going on here.  Sublte hopiness and a little grassy.  Clean, smooth scents.

    16/24

    Appearance

Superior clarity, which seems to be a Rhinegeist cornerstone.  Nice small bubbles.  Traditional “beer” color

    6/6

    Flavor

Nice light barleymalt throughout.  Very smooth with bold hops. These are not the floral hops that seem to be so prevalent in IPAs now, but rather smooth and earthy with a bitterness at the end.  This hop profile could be polarizing, but Rhinegheist knew this would be loved by some so they went with it.  For as bold as it is, it can still be sessionable, just be aware of the 7.2%

    35/40

    Mouthfeel

Smooth with substance, Truth has a medium body and is very drinkable.

    7/10

    Overall

This is a very drinkable offering from a great converging Cincinnati brewery.  This beer is very drinkable and can be sipped or drank as a session IPA.  Has a very unique taste that will leave most IPA lovers wanting another.

    18/20

    Total Score

If you can get your hands on this certainly do so.  I personally love this beer, and it is always in my refrigerator. The only reason this is not rated higher, is that the hop flovor is not multidimensional and not all will love it.  I want you to decide for yourself.  Please let me know your thoughts.

    82/100
